Drive Test Procedure for New Site and Cluster

1. Coverage Plot ( RSCP and EcNo )

1.1. Drive Test Tools :
For Coverage Plot, Use a scanner for UMTS band 2100 Mhz and Nemo/TEMS Tool with 3G UE.
1.2. Drive Test Method :

a. Lock the scanner and UE to the SC of that sector.
b. Drive test along route of that sector until end of that coverage.
c. Repeat for other sector until all of sector in that site is done.

2. Functionality Test

Do functionality tests in each sector for all RAB services ( voice call, video call and PS call ) and mobility test for inter RAT handover for 5 – 10 samples.

Drive Test Method for each service :
2.1. Voice Call : do test call to other number in same PLMN and other PLMN.
2.2. Video Call ( CS 64 ) : do test call to other number in same PLMN and other PLMN.
2.3. PS 64, 128, and 384 : do FTP Download and Upload for 1 MB from internal server and do HTTP service from other address ( ex: yahoo, google )
2.4. Do IMSI Attach
2.5. Do Cell Reselection from or to 2G system
2.6. Do SHO with other 3G cells that have an adjacent with that sector and Intersystem handover from or to 2G system in voice and video call.
2.7. Do Cell Change Order from or to 2G GPRS system in PS Call ( FTP or HTTP service )


Drive Test Procedure for one cluster

1. Coverage Plot ( RSCP and EcNo )

1.1. Drive Test Tools :

For Coverage Plot, Use a scanner for UMTS band 2100 Mhz and Nemo/TEMS Tool with 3G UE.
1.2. Drive Test Method :

a. Lock the scanner to the UARFCN of that PLMN.
b. Use Sim card of that PLMN
c. Drive test along route of that cluster.

2. Functionality Test

Do functionality tests in each sector for all RAB services ( voice call, video call and PS call ) and mobility test for inter RAT handover for at least 100 samples.

Drive Test Method for each service :

2.1. Voice Call :

a. do test voice call to other number in same PLMN and other PLMN, with dedicated 90 s and idle 10 s.
b. Do the voice call with dedicated 90 s and idle 10 s.
c. Drive test along route of that cluster.

2.2 Video Call ( CS 64 ) :
a. Do test video call to other number in same PLMN and other PLMN, with dedicated 90 s and idle 10 s.
b. Do the video call with dedicated 90 s and idle 10 s.
c. Drive Test along route that cluster

2.3 PS 64, 128, and 384 (Mobile):

a. Chose APN depends on service
b. Do FTP Download and Upload for 2 MB from internal server and do HTTP service from other address ( ex: yahoo, google)
c. Drive Test along route that cluster.

2.4 PS 64, 128, and 384 (Stationary)
a. Chose APN depends on service
b. Find the place with number Active Set is one and have a good coverage and good quality
c. Do FTP Download and Upload for 2 MB from internal server and do HTTP service from other address ( ex: yahoo, google)

2.5 IMSI attach

a. Stay at 3G coverage, which have 2G coverage
b. Lock to 2G system
c. Change the lock to 3G system

2.6 Do Cell Reselection from or to 2G system
a. Find the border 3G coverage, which have good 2G coverage
b. Drive Test route are from 3G coverage to 2G coverage in border 3G coverage (This procedure is for Cell Reselection to 2G system, for Cell Reselection to 3G system use this opposite procedure b).


2.7 Do SHO
a. Active UE to dedicated state
b. Drive Test route are from one cell to another cell.

2.8 Do Intersystem HO from or to 3G system
a. Find the border 3G coverage, which have good 2G coverage.
b. Active UE to dedicated state.
c. Drive Test route are from 3G coverage to 2G coverage in border 3G coverage (This procedure is for Intersystem to 2G system, for Intersystem to 3G system use this opposite procedure).

2.9 Do Cell Change Order from or to 2G GPRS system in PS Call ( FTP or HTTP service )
a. Find the border 3G coverage, which have good 2G coverage.
b. Active the UE to dedicated PS state (ex. FTP).
c. Drive Test route are from 3G coverage to 2G coverage in border 3G coverage (This procedure is for Cell Change Order to 2G GPRS system, Cell Change Order from 2G GPRS system use this opposite procedure ).
